Thank you for reporting this bug. Are you using compiz? Have you tried to start with a clean profile? Can you minimize other windows than firefox?

I find that only Firefox is affected (under Linux 8.10), all my other applications behave as they should.

If I have multiple Firefox windows plus other applications open and only want to close an individual browser window, I can either Alt+F4 whilst viewing it, or Alt+Tab to a non-Firefox window and then right-click the one I want to close, then select Close from the pop-up menu.

If I've only got multiple Firefox windows open, I have to Alt+Tab to the appropriate one and Alt+F4 to close it.

Looking forward to seeing my top-bar-corner buttons again :-)

Further to my posting of yesterday, I hae found that by pressing F11 twice - i.e. toggling full-screen off and on - Firefox gets its top bar buttons. This gives a workaround and hopefully provides a clue as to the nature of the cause.

Happy to say I found a page on support.mozilla.com that provided a way of restoring the buttons "properly":

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Back+and+forward+or+other+toolbar+buttons+are+missing

So after following the instructions in the "Reset toolbars and controls" section, Firefox now has the title bar and all its buttons. Perhaps only a bug in that I didn't change the settings, they somehow got changed without my noticing - perhaps when I accepted the latest Firefox upgrade.
