Bug Description

I found a trivial typo in cmdline/apt-cache.cc while searching for another bug. A comment misspells "package." debdiff is attached.

Thank you for reporting this bug and preparing a patch to fix it. Could you please update your debdiff for apt version 0.7.14ubuntu3, the current version in the Intrepid repositories? You should also filter out the changes to configure and configure.in from your debdiff, they do not belong there. Finally, be sure your debian/changelog entry is targeted at intrepid, not hardy. Your changelog entry should also close this bug report by having '(LP: #253868)' at the end of it. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for taking the time to explain in detail what I had to do. I have fixed the debdiff to refer to Intrepid rather than Hardy, and added the changelog LP reference, and removed the configure/configure.in/.cvsignore. I very much appreciate that you took the time to explain what I did wrong instead of just taking the patch and applying the relevant parts.

Thanks for updating your debdiff. The next step is to add it to the sponsorship queue (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/Sponsorship/SponsorsQueue). This will ensure that it gets uploaded to the repositories. To add it to the queue, you should set the status to 'Confirmed', and make sure that it is assigned to nobody. After doing that, you subscribe (not assign) 'ubuntu-universe-sponsors' for packages in universe/multiverse, and 'ubuntu-main-sponsors' for packages in main/restricted. Since apt is in main, you would subscribe 'ubuntu-main-sponsors' to this bug. Since it looks like you enjoy doing things for yourself, I will let you take care of adding this bug to the sponsorship queue yourself.

I have set this to Confirmed, Assigned to Nobody, Subscribed to ubuntu-main-sponsors. Thank you again for all your help--all of the documentation and help available on Launchpad is a welcome change from the debian bugtracker.
