Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace-bin

Using Kubuntu/Hardy/KDE4.1. I have created several Meta+X shortcuts in khotkeys, but only _one_ of them works (Meta+Q assigned to konqueror does work). None of the other 5 shortcuts start their applications.

Any ideas why this might happen, or how I can test it further?

I think that I have the same problem - no hotkey works.

I can enter different actions by using the settings->advanced->khotkey interface but nothing works.

I found the following article http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=874132 - see post #5.

If I look into settings->keyboar&mouse and open "KHotKeys" in the dropdown box I can see multiple rows for each time I edited/saved something in settings->advanced->khotkey. Have a look at the screenshot attached. You will see multiple "PrintScreen" rows. Also multiple "Run Konsole".

I played around with these two ways of changing settings but nothing made the hotkeys work for me.

I use the KDE 4.1 from launchpad on kubuntu hardy.

I have the same problem. I can't get any of the hotkeys to work. Not even the preconfigured Print Screen trigger. I too have multiple settings for each hotkey listed under Keyboard Shortcuts.

Raising importance to Medium as this effects a lot of people one way or another (most prominent: the print screen feature).

I created new gestures in "input action" and now all my shortcuts are disconfigurated, because in Keyboards shortcuts->Configuration keybinds, khotkeys takes the schemes from the other components, kmix, plasma, yakuake, etc... (you can see a example in attachment).
The solution is to click in Defaults, and reassign all shortcuts again, but If I make any changes, the problem is repeated.

If there isn't a fix, Is it an option to disable khotkeys in intrepid?

It doesn't do any harm, does it?
So why should we deactivate it completely?

In my case, it does do harm.
Sorry, I don't think I have explained properly.

khotkeys takes the schemes and SHORTCUTS from the other components (shortcuts are repeated) and the shortcuts of the components are left empty. When this happens, shortcuts don't work, and the solution is to return to reassign all the repeated shortcuts. And If I make any changes, the problem is repeated.
Is it normal?

Can anyboby confirm the same?

I don't know how I can reset khotkeys to the original state. Is it possible?
