XMLTV missing from freeguide-0.10.8-with-xmltv-win32.exe

Installing freeguide-0.10.8-with-xmltv-win32.exe on WIndows XP Pro SP3 with Java 1.6 Update 7 does not install the XMLTV subtree, so "Choose Channels" in the First Time Wizard is not executed.

I've just tried it on Windows XP and it seems to work ok.

Please could you uninstall using the instructions here:

http://www.artificialworlds.net/freeguide/FAQ/UninstallWindows

and then install again, and then launch FreeGuide from a DOS/Cmd window as described here:

Firstly, apologies for an inaccurate bug report - I forgot that the XMLTV
stuff has been under the data directory since 0.10.5 so I was looking in the
wrong place when trying to provide more info.

Anyway, I've done as you asked, although run.cmd>log.txt does not actually
write to log.txt. So I've copied the messages being echoed back to the
command shell:

The Java exception occurs when I click on Finish at the end of the
FirstTimeWizard (having ticked "Choose channels now")
I then see the "There are missing listings for today. Do you want to
download more?" request dialogue.
Selecting yes or no has no apparent affect, and I'm presented with the
Freeguide main screen.

Yes, I am seeing this now too, when I delete the registry settings and start from scratch.

Sorry - it looks like this release is broken for 2 reasons:

1. I forgot to write the upgrade code to go from 0.10.7 to 0.10.8

and

2. tv_grab_uk_rt in XMLTV 0.5.52 appears to be broken too.

As soon as I get a moment I'll make a new release.

I'm off now to try and disable this release in Sourceforge,

Just so you are aware - I can't revert to V 0.10.7

V 0.10.7 'Choose channels for XMLTV' results in "Channel 'BBC Olympics
Interactive Channel 2' (2069) unknown in XMLTV channel_ids file", then the
'Retrieving channels' progress bar hangs indefinitely.

I guess this is a problem with the version of XMLTV incorporated in V
0.10.7?
