Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Ubuntu 64bit
Release 8.04.1 (hardy)
Kernel Linux 2.6.24-19-generic
GNOME 2.22.2

Package:
3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0Ubuntu0.8.04.2

I clicked a link: http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_3.htm

Firefox crashed, flashed a dialog box to quickly to read. Tried that link several times to see what was in the dialog box but it was just to fast (Most times the box didn't even have time to generate text before firefox closed).

Tried the site in Konqueror and it worked fine.

I don't know if this is relevant but, about 3/4 of the way down the page there is a Java applet. This applet doesn't work in Konqueror even though I have the sun-java6-bin and sun-java6-jre. The page tells me I don't have java installed

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried to reproduce the bug. The laptop I was using when that happened is down currently as I cracked the case and the computer shop hasn't been able to locate a replacement. I don't use Firefox or Konquerer anymore anyway on any of my systems as I found that Epiphany works better for me. Sorry it took so long to get back with you.
