Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Every time a third session of FF 3 tries to start, it freezes. I commonly have two sessions running in two different desktops (Ubuntu Hardy 8.04). If I or a site tries to open a third session, all three lock up and I have to restart FF.

Hi Craig! I just want to note that I cannot confirm this, and was able to open 5 Firefox windows and just them all just fine. When you say "sessions" are you just talking about Firefox windows, meaning you just opened again?

Huh ... Wonder why I'm having trouble, although it explains why I wasn't
able to find any fix online.

I start FF twice, once each for two different "desktops" in Ubuntu. Then the
problem usually happens when a Web site pops up another FF window. For
example, it happened today when I was doing some banking and wanted to see
details on a bill. The bank site popped up a separate window and FF locked
up.

This seems to happen on my pre-loaded Dell laptop as well, but I'll have to
confirm that.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

this is a known google toolbar issue. if you still see this bug, just disable that extension (or even uninstall).
