REGRESSION: firefox 3.0 does not honor -P flag to start a session using a specific profile

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I use the -P flag to start firefox with different profiles depending on what I am using it for (it separates cookies, history, and preferences).
This flag does not work in Hardy with firefox 3.0 anymore.

examples of use:

firefox -P default %u

firefox -P "profile2" -no-remote %u

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release: 8.04

There is no output.
It opens the correct page but in the wrong profile (it uses the
currently running firefox instance instead of opening a new one with
the specified profile)

for example

firefox
* runs firefox *
firefox -P profile2 http://www.cnn.com
* opens a new window with http://www.cnn.com in it but using the
default profile *

if I close all the firefox windows (and wait a couple seconds for it
actually to shut down firefox) and then give the command
firefox -P profile2
* opens firefox using profile2 *
firefox -P default
* opens a window using profile2 *

Hope this explains what I'm seeing,

Manfred

I figured out the problem. The flag --no-remote needs to be added to the command line.
For example:

firefox --no-remote -P profile3 http://www.google.com
