Bug Description

After yesterday's updates to Breezy my X no longer starts.

The message which I am getting is "Screen(s) found but none at correct resolution". I have a 1400x1050 screen on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 510m). Up until then it had been working correctly. I had 855resolution installed because, without it, I could not run at 1400x1050 and everything was blurry.

Please tell me what logs/information you need and where I can get them from.

Even if nobody has time to deal with the problem quickly, can somebody let me know which logs etc. will be valuable? I am going to have to re-install Breezy (and ignore xorg updates) to get back to a usable system and so any logs etc. will be lost if I do not get them soon. This seems a rather serious issue and I want to help as much as possible to get it fixed!

I have created a Bugzilla bug and attached my Xorg log to that (I didn't want to paste it into here and I cannot attach things in Launchpad). Please follow the link to the remote bug.

I have uninstalled 855resolution to remove that as a factor, but the error still occurs. Is this happening to all who have a 1400x1050 screen??

Sorry to be persistent, Daniel, but can you please tell me what you may need to have from me? I have been leaving my Ubuntu install untouched so that I can give you more information if you need it or test fixes, but that leaves me largely without a machine while I wait. If you will be able to test without me can you please let me know so I can reinstall Breezy (and not update X until a fix is ready)?
