i have not had a problem of late. i was on 8.04 i have moved to 8.10. but i
do belive i got a graphics driver related update as well. not sure why but
its a non issue. thx for your response. :)

Thanks for your response, but the problem ceased with the upgrade of
Flashplayer. I believe the problem was with them.
