Unable to create sessions for several sites

Attempts to log in to my online banking site (http://www.icesave.co.uk/) repeatedly bring up a new login screen. Attempts to access specific holiday info on Virgin Travel brings up a message saying that the session has expired. Neither site has any problem using firefox 2.

Hi Mark, thanks for using Ubuntu and taking the time to file this bug report! This sounds like you might not have cookies enabled, can you go into Edit -> Preferences, click the Privacy tab, and ensure that cookies are being accepted?

Also Mark, are you using any Firefox extensions? You can check by clicking Tools -> Add-ons. If so, make sure to disable them and see if you can still duplicate the behavior.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for helping me with this. Cookies are enabled, but not third
party cookies.The sites in question are not included in my list of
exceptions.
The extensions I use besides the standard Ubuntu extensions, are Adblock
Plus and NoScripts. Disabling them makes no difference.
I have installed Firefox 2 alongside FF3 so that I can access my online
bank, Icesave, and wonder if there is some sort of conflict between the
two versions. The extensions listed above have attached themselves to
FF3 and not FF2, while the latest extension I added, Adobe Flash, is
attached to FF2 and not to FF3. I have to keep swapping between the two
to get the functionality I require, and I cannot have both open at once.

So Mark, just to confirm, you've tried disabling all extensions, restarting Firefox (this part is crucial), and logging into the website again?

If so, can you try enabling third-party cookies and seeing if it works that way. Make sure to restart Firefox or at least reload the page after enabling third-party cookies. It is possible that the authentication is done through a third party on their website.

Yes I have disabled all extensions, enabled third party cookies, restarted Firefox, and logged into the site again with the same result.

Thanks Mark for your patience in trying everything. A lot of times problems like this are because people have some setting that is disabling cookies, or they are using extensions which are interfering with behavior. Since you confirmed this does not appear to be the issue, I shall confirm this bug, and hopefully someone else can take it further. Thanks again!
