Bug Description

no problem using xubuntu 7.10 for playing poker using browser.

but the ubuntu/ xubuntu 8.0 has given me some problem.

i play at poker site under the pokernetwork (hollywood, tower, betsson poker, etc etc). pokernetowrk provide the choice of playing poker in the browser (using java).

in the poker room, i could take notes on players. but the ubuntu/ xubuntu 8.0 (i tried both ubuntu 8.0 and xubuntu 8.0) if i take note on player, i have problem to do a input using keyboard.

after i take note on player, i save it, and when i wanna use the keyboard, say, to chat, i couldn't do it. the keyboard has no response. i have to go back to the main lobby page, and click on the chat box in the main lobby page, and go back to the poker room, in order to 'wake' the keyboard up for input in the poker room.

now i am using xubuntu 7.10 and i don't have such problem while playing poker.

- java i am using is sun java 6 for both cases, ubuntu/ xubuntu 8.0 or xubuntu 7.10.

- machine i am using is acer aspire 4315 for both ubuntu 8.0 and 7.10

- browser i am using is firefox 3.0 for ubuntu/ xubuntu 8.0, and in xubuntu 7.10 case, i am using firefox 2.0.0.14

Hi, thanks for reporting.
There seems to be some problem with java input involving different keyboard layouts than the default set in ubuntu, what is your default keyboard layout? Can you test with other layouts to see if those work?
