Insufficient space on media when direct copying to blank CD

Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

Trying to direct copy an audio CD ejects the CD-R with the "not enough disc space on media" dialog. I have tried this process with 3 CD-R's (all from the same CD bundle). It does not attempt to write anything; as I can burn the audio CD on the same CD-R afterwards using Serpentine.

Attached are the messages to std-out.

I'm using Brasero version "0.7.1-3ubuntu1" on Hardy.

It does seem likely that disk space might be my issue, I'll free up some more and report back if I still have the problem.

Thanks

I'm confirming this bug, because noticed this error message on my system too, problem isn't in hard disk space, but in calculation of CD-R (media) space - error message is "not enough disc space on media".
AFAIK brasero 0.7 wrongly calculates size of audio CD before burning, I've meet with this bug during creation of "Audio CD Project" - Brasero displays that audio disk should fit in 700 MB CD during creation of "Audio Project" (when I added wav files), but I got error message "not enough disc space on media" when I tried to burn that "Audio Project". I've removed one song from the project and then Brasero burned Audio CD and didn't displayed error message.
I think we should if this bug exist in latest Brasero stable version - 0.8.0, AFAIK nobody will fix problems in old stable branch - 0.7

It seems this bug is related to bug #240500 and Pedro Villavicencio wrote in comments - "bug is likely a known one (wrong calculation)".

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Intrepid Ibex. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

It seems this bug has been fixed in Brasero 0.8.3 as mentioned in the release announcement "#556449 Session error : Insufficient space on media when copying an audio CD (same problem with trunk)"
