Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Ubiquity fails during normal upgrade. Multiple attempts seem not to do anything different. Some error about a lock file.

Hrmm why did you have ubiquity installed in the first place?

Mario, why is this Incomplete? It seems like a clear bug regardless of why the user had ubiquity installed.

This turns out because it was an error in how diversions were done in an earlier alpha. It was resolved later, but an upgrade path was not added in for the broken diversion. If this happens again, I'll be sure to add in an upgrade path.

This one seems to be affecting me too. Tried various apt-get and dpkg commands to forcefully remove the broken package but nothing seems to be able to get rid of it.

Could you mention what version you came from and are going to?
Need to kbps where the breakage is coming from to fix it.

I don't remember the details. I didn't do an upgrade. This was just a
maintenance update that caused the problem.

I was trying to find a solution but never did so I gave up.

Well if the problem is still persisting, can you provide the output of:

dpkg -l | grep ubiquity-frontend-mythbuntu

as well as attach /var/log/dpkg.log?

Hopefully details can be identified.
