Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Feature request.

Some plain-text emails arrive without hard text wrap at 80 columns. Evolution correctly word wraps these when viewed, paragraphs wrap at window edge.

However when replying to such an email, the text is not wrapped in any way, paragraphs appear on a single line.

Evolution should wrap such emails by insertion of newline characters when quoted in a new email such as a reply

Thanks for your report, it looks like http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532492 ; which is known upstream, thanks.

Unfortunately there seems no activity in the thread you are relating to.

However, that bug on bugzilla does not sound very much like the one described here.

I can confirm the bug described here.

This occurs for me too - sometimes, selecting parts of the quoted text that lie outside the viewable cause it to be wrapped.
Lacking line wrapping happens somtimes just for the quoted, but sometimes even for the new text I type as reply.

Even explicitly selecting "Wrap lines" from the format menu doesn't help.

Axel

It's been two years. There's still a problem upstream?
