Miss VirtualBox kernel module after update

After latest upgrade from 2.6.24.16 to 2.6.24.17, it misses the package about the kernel module for VirtualBox for this Kernel version.

Upgrade system to last version
Start VirtualBox

I have the same problem this morning. It seems that we need to install the 2.6.24.16 again, just for running virtualbox? Or another solution would be to install the virtualbox-ose-modules for this new version, but they are not available in the repo's yet.

They are still in the -proposed repository. However, you can download the package directly from here:

https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/virtualbox-ose-modules

Choose the correct architecture, download, and install with dpkg -i.

Hi guys. You have not go back to old kernel. Here is the answer.

Shortly:
1. Remove this file /etc/vbox/vbox.cfg
2. Run sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
3. That should be all.
I am now back in normal with Virtual Box and the kernel 2.6.24.17
