Up to date, hardy-proposed is enabled
in launchpad (or somewhere else) click a "browse" button and "file upload" dialog opens.
Type /var/log, ENTER in the location bar
file and directory names are displayed twice

Thanks for reporting this bug. Does the duplicate file names happens in firefox only or in other programs (such as vlc) as well?
