GNOME About Me info not used in User Data fields

I'm using GNOME 2.12, and I've filled in the "About Me" page (from gnome-about).
When I open OpenOffice.org2 Writer, none of the information added in GNOME's
About Me is available to OpenOffice. It would be fantastic if these two worked
together !

It's not really using the Gnome "About Me" information to get that though it is pulling that from the /etc/passwd file the same as "About Me" does.

Oh yea, it also appears that it caches the name after the .openoffice.org2 directory is created which is bad. If the name, or in the future, the other data changes it should not get cached.

I think the bug is not reported to the correct upstream place. It should be qa.openoffice.org.
And sorry but I can't find the 'About me' option in OOo. Where is it? Once I check this issue I'll upstream it.

This probably refers to the "Tools→Options" dialog, "OpenOffice.org→User Data" panel. It has fields "Company", "First/Last name/Initials", etc. If you install the upstream OpenOffice and have not registered before, the user-registration information ends up in there.

well, gnome ( or even kde ) are not the only desktop environments, ( and I must be blind but where is Gnome's about me info )

could you be more specific about which information can be retrieved from the mysterious gnome 'About Me' information

gnome-about-me is in gnome-control-center (at least on Ubuntu). I think this information comes from evolution-data-server, but I am not completely certain.

This still seems to be a problem on OOo 3, I got caught off guard when I created a note and it said by unknown, and then realized that it had not taken any of my data from gnome-about-me, so had to fill in all my information again.

Having OOo fill this information in automatically would be really nice, another desktop integration feature I've not typically seen on other OSs.

Using Ubuntu Jaunty, pre-installed version of OOo.

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
