Hi,

For me the crash reported by apport actually occured after Compiz hung following activation of both Blur and Shift Window Switcher effects. When I tried switching between windows, the system froze for a few seconds, then desktop effects were gone. When I tried to (re-)activate extra effects (I was in custom mode before the freeze), this crash was reported.

Hope this helps somehow....

Hello,
The deskop-effects-kde is unmaintained by it's original authors and has been removed from the Ubuntu archives for future releases. It has been replaced by the built-in desktop effects settings within System Settings. Therefore it will not be any updates for it, excepting fixes for security issues if they arise.

Thanks for your bug report all the same, and we hope that you continue to report bugs in the future as you find them.
