Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

This happened after activating both shift window switcher and blur effects. The system froze for a few seconds on window switching, then desktop effects were gone.

This may affect compiz and/or xserver-xorg-video-intel, not sure...

Thanks for your bug report. The symptoms provided indicate this is a problem with your video drivers and is being reassigned to the xorg package. For more information on problems with visual effects and video drivers see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/VisualEffects.

Hmm, this sounds like a bug that got solved in the version of X we include in Karmic. Please re-test a Karmic livecd to see if it is still an issue in the newer code. CD ISOs can be found at http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/. Testing Alpha-2 or newer should probably be sufficient.
