Bug Description

Bug #176090 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/176090), wireless LED not
working with iwl3945 or iwl4965, is already fixed in linux-backports-modules-hardy. However,
the LED behavior is not perfect because it does not blink on traffic. Given that all devices which use iwl3945 and iwl4965 are likely to be affected by this bug, there is little need for you to list your notebook here unless something strange is happening, for example your WiFi LED is blinking on traffic to the rhythm of 'La Cucaracha'.

The blinking works with proprietary driver ipw3945.

For reference, my machine is a Dell Vostro 1400.

indicates that progress on this issue has been made some time ago. Might help.
