Bug Description

1. Hardy 8.04 x64 Final
2. Cheese 2.22.1-0ubuntu1
3. Ability to capture videos--stable performance
4. This version of Cheese is a regression in terms of performance and stability compared to the Gutsy package. On both an MSI PR200/1221/Daru2 and an HP Pavilion dv2000z, the video lags when dragging the program box. Then, the program fails to record properly (i.e. freezing and not saving the video). There are numerous bug reports already posted. Since 2.23.1 was released on 21 Apr, please consider packaging it for Hardy 8.04.1. I hope this will fix some of these problems. This program is so cool with a great deal of potential. Thanks.

Cheese 2.23.2 has also been released now. I second the call for packaging this in hardy. The 2.22 version is crashypants.

Ok, last week they released the stable version of Cheese 2.22.2 as part of gnome 2.22.2. I see that some other gnome 2.22.2 components are in the hardy proposed repo, but I don't see cheese, yet. Is it coming??

Not a backport candidate since this version isn't currently in Intrepid. Debian has 2.22.3-3 at this stage so it can't be synced either. 2.23.90 is the latest version now.
