Bug Description

In the new hardy version the Samba Network Manger will not send my files to my windows XP computer that is on the TCP/IP network with the copy/cut paste command.

I found that I can send files to my windows XP computer by draging and droping them to the windows xp share folder that now gets mounted to the desktop in the new hardy version when accessing a network share.

To me this is very serious bug that keep people from accessing there data.

My Windows XP Machine is Pre Service Pack 1 with no Firewall or antvirus nothing its just a backup file server that does nothing more that hold files with a no software or updates installed on it just Windows XP Home raw nothing more.

Could you try connecting to your windows XP computer with the smbclient from the command line :

I have found a temporary solution to getting files sent to my Windows XP machine that is in my local area network TCP/IP threw samba client.

Copy/Cut files and pasating them to my XP Machine still does not work but if I simply drag and drop the file I want to send to the XP Machine folder mount that is on the desktop when samba connects to the machine that is on the network. I take the file I want and drag and drop over the folder mount that is on the desktop and the file is sent to the networked XP machine.

Cut/Copy Paste files to XP Computer Not Working.
Cut/Copy Paste files From XP Computer to Ubuntu 7.04 Linux Machine works good.
Drag and Drop files to XP Computer Works Good.
Drag and Drop files From XP Computer ro Ubuntu 7.04 Linux Machine not Tested.

this sounds like an issue with the nautilus file browser, not with samba itself; reassigning.
