Bug Description
Binary package hint: python-matplotlib
In Hardy, apt-get install python-matlibplot.
Then type: python -c "import pylab"
You get the result:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 1, in <module>
File "/usr/lib/
from matplotlib.pylab import *
File "/usr/lib/

File "/usr/lib/
from matplotlib.
File "/usr/lib/
import gtk; gdk = gtk.gdk
ImportError: No module named gtk
To fix the problem, you need to apt-get install python-gtk2. You can then import pylab successfully.
Grrr. When I said python-matlibplot, I meant python-matplotlib.
