Bug Description
My Thinkpad T30 laptop is configured as dual boot system with Debian Etch and the Hardy Heron final release.
After booting into Hardy Heron, when doing suspend to ram from either the gnome power manager, or using the Thinkpad function keys, the lcd display does not turn off. It goes blank for a moment, and then starts to turn greenish; the discoloration starts at the bottom the display and gradually up from the middle of the display. If I close the lid, the display still remains on. The laptop will still resume from suspend.
I have tried setting "RADEON_LIGHT=true" in /etc/default/
Debian Etch, which was installed first on the laptop, does not exhibit this behavior at all. The display turns off when I suspend to ram from kpowersave, or using the function keys.

Tonight I decided to put Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 on the same Thinkpad T30. I installed it over the Hardy Heron partition, letting it format and install fresh. Gutsy Gibbon suspends to ram normally and DOES turn off the display, as should be the case. Suspend to disk also works normally with Gutsy Gibbon the T30.
