Binary package hint: samba
I'm just in the process to upgrade from latest Gutsy to Hardy final with Update Manager via Internet.
The process hangs at "Setting up samba-common (3.0.28a-
In /var/log/
WARNING no activity on terminal for 240 seconds (Configuring samba-common)
which is just what I am experiencing.
I decided to press Ctrl-C inside Update Manager's terminal. This immediately continued the Distribution Upgrade, but lead to this error and half-installed packages.

Hi Andreas,
I see that, at least presently, you have the current version of the ucf package installed from Ubuntu 8.04.
Can you tell me if this error is reproducible for you if you re-attempt the upgrade? It may be that this dependency on ucf needs to be a versioned dependency because the previous version of ucf is insufficient.
This doesn't seem to be a very common problem, since no one has reported it before now; there may be something very particular to your installation that causes this hang, which we'll try to get to the bottom of.
If it hangs on a subsequent attempt, the output of 'ps awx | grep -A5 samba-common' may help diagnose this further.
