MythTV Frontend Menu Shortcut broken

Binary package hint: mythtv

When I try to start MythTV using the "MythTV Frontend" shortcut in the GNOME menu, nothing happens. Upon further investigation, the command used by the menu shortcut is "mythfrontend --service". Running the command in a terminal gives the error message:

.: 90: Can't open /etc/mythtv/session-settings

However, I am able to start myth-tv with the command "mythfrontend", without the --service parameter.

I'm not sure what the --service parameter does; it doesn't seem to be documented under "mythfrontend --help". It obviously depends no /etc/mythtv/session-settings, which doesn't exist on my system.

Running mythtv version "0.21.0+fixes16838-0ubuntu3" from the Hardy repositories. Installed on updated Hardy RC on AMD64. I followed the install instructions for Mythbuntu on Gutsy, configured as a backend and frontend on an existing desktop. I've previously had trouble with mythtv and ended up removing the package, but this is now occurring after a fresh install.

According to this, that file is provided by the mythtv-frontend package:

$ apt-file search mythtv/session-settings
mythtv-frontend: /etc/mythtv/session-settings

If you are missing it, that would explain issues starting. Perhaps we'll need to make it less dependent upon sourcing the file to do things.
