Bug Description
Installing Kubuntu KDE4 RC1 Alternative amd OEM failed on reboot of machine.
CD-ROM iso: http://
Installed on Lenovo 3000 N200 Centrino Duo core laptop.
Did an OEM install following instructions as per http://
1. Booted from Alternative CD
2. Selected Check CD for defect checking, waited for check to complete (it was OK) and rebooted
3. Installed and rebooted
4. Got the normal Kubuntu desktop
Bug #1: The oem-config-prepare icon did not have any icon image.
5. Installed 1 extra package (tuxpaint)
Bug #2: The package manager did not have any appropriate icons on the left hand side of the package manager application. I believe there should be icons for each of the package groupings.
6. Clicked on the oem-config-prepare icon.
Rebooted to see if the new user setup procedure appears:
Bug #3: Got a blue desktop screen and nothing else. Waiting 5 minutes and still nothing happened so I gave up.

This also happens on i386 with:
http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/kubuntu/ daily/20081021. 2/hardy- alternate- i386.iso
Except for me it was a black X screen with nothing else when it rebooted. All I could see what the black X cursor.
