Bug Description

After configuring my ethernet card with dhcp and surfing the internet for a
while i logged out for a minute,
after i logged in again, it showed that the network card has not been configured
yet, but internet still worked.

It should show the real status of the card, even after a logout...

I can confirm this one.. Neither on eth0 or eth1 does the applet show the
correct status.

But is it the case all the time, not only after a logout.

This has not been replaced by networkmanager, since it doesn't show network activity.

It's still an issue for me (up to date hardy).
Bug #4479 and bug #103935 are duplicates of this one and they're still reproducible.

Does this problem still exist in Intrepid or Jaunty (development)? Thanks in advance.
