f-spot can't open photo's when @ in path

Bug Description

Binary package hint: f-spot

This concerns F-spot 0.4.0-0ubuntu3 included on gutsy

Steps to reproduce

1. Place photos in "/some-path/including/@ here/"
2. Open up F-spot
3. Use file -> import folder (select previous path)

Expected result: Photos are imported and can be viewed

Actual result: Photos are imported but fails to display them (see screenshot)

eerrr I meant "open folder", not import folder :)

Thanks for your report, that works fine in hardy, feel free to re open the bug if you still have the issue with it though, thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem under Hardy, no @ sign involved; it started happening after importing some photos from a Canon camera. Now trying to display any photo, even those that previously displayed OK, either in the window or fullscreen, produces an image like the screenshot above. The thumbnails are displayed OK. Other users on the same machine are not affected; they can use f-spot normally.

Something else that may be relevant: when you right-click on a thumbnail and select the "Open with:" submenu, there are no entries, whereas on a machine where f-spot is working normally, there are a few entries in this submenu, starting with "Image Viewer".

Please do not re open the reports closed in more than a year ago, rather open a new bug report if you're having a similar issue with jaunty or later.
