kopete crashes when trying to open a chat window

Also, this is in Gutsy 7.10 and it just freezes when I try to open a chat window with someone, and I have to terminate the application.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

I haven't been having any problems with 8.10
