Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-15-generic

After upgrading from kernel 2.6.24-12 to 2.6.24-15 the kernel consequently oopses and hangs during boot.

Based on a dmesg output it seems to be related to the sound system (e.g. load of saa7134 ALSA driver). Dmesg output is attached.

Hi Tommy,

I'm marking this as a duplicate of bug 212271 - basically the saa7134-alsa module was recently enabled in the linux-ubuntu-modules package and it looks like it's now triggering a kernel oops on some machines. I think the workaround for now is to blacklist saa7134-alsa. Thanks.
