mythzoneminder doesn't work

Binary package hint: mythtv

Hi, i installed the pkg 0.21.0+fixes16838-0ubuntu1 which has:

The MythZoneminder plugin doesn't work, i think i have to do "./configure --enable.zoneminder" but i don't know where, since i installed all my plugins from the Mythbuntu CD (I'm using Mythbuntu 7.10) and i don't know the exact path.

Another issue, the "/usr/bin/mythzmserver" seems to be not installed :S

My MythTV and Zoneminder are working well

You seem to have the same stuff listed, and mythzmserver is included. When trying to run it on command line though, it asks for /etc/zm.conf:

Do you have that file installed/configured?
$/usr/bin/mythzmserver

yes, it's in /etc/zm/zm.conf

Ahhh.

Please try this:

sudo ln -s /etc/zm/zm.conf /etc/zm.conf

And then restart myth.

i've done that, but the problem is that there's no even a tab where i can access to zm, it's like the plugin hasn't been installed and only the folders have been created.

I'm not familiar with how the plugin is supposed to "function", but you might
look at mythfrontend's startup log (/var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log) and see if
there is any error loading the plugin at all.

I looked at the mythfronted's startup log and the plugin doesn't initialize because of an error in the libmythzoneminder.so:

/usr/lib/mythtv/plugins/lybmythzoneminder.so: undefined symbol _ZN19ConfigurationDialog8addChildEP12Configurable
SIP: Cannot register; proxy, username or password not set

the library is a binary archive so i can't edit anything.

I recently hooked up some camera and installed zoneminder. I also installed mythzoneminder to use it with myth. I did have to do

sudo ln -s /etc/zm/zm.conf /etc/zm.conf

in order to get it to work. I then had to do

sudo /usr/bin/mythzmserver

in order for mythtv to be able to connect to the zoneminder server (I did all this on the same system)

Mythzmserver still does not start itself. It has to be run manually. This was never the case in Gutsy.

Well zonemonder does not work with either Creative Webcam LIVE! nor Logitech Webcam, both usb. Cheese works perfectly with both cameras. But it appears mythzoneminder or mythzmserver does start but, renders no picture because zoneminder is not working for me with these two cameras.

I don't know if the symbolic link mentioned in the above comments is still necessary or not, but on the assumption you've checked and/or tried that, does mythfrontend's startup log (/var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log) show any related errors?
