Hello Pedro,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your instructions for the backtrace. I
live in a popular tourist spot, and playing tour guide for family has pretty
much eaten my life for the last month.

I have followed the instructions on the indicated page. I've outlined what I
did below, so please advise if I've missed something.

* I had to add the "multiverse" tag to the line "deb
http://ddebs.ubuntu.comgutsy main universe" in /etc/apt/sources.list
in order for for apt-get to
find and install nspluginwrapper-dbgsym.

* I attached gdb to npviewer.bin after firefox v 3.0b5 was already running,
but before accessing a Flash-encrusted site.

* Possibly a problem or not, but gdb claimed no debugging symbols found in
this version of npviewer.bin. The relevant line seems to be:

Reading symbols from
/usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin...Reading symbols from
/usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin...(no
debugging symbols found)...done.
(no debugging symbols found)...done.

The bug has not recurred since I started gdb. I can either provide more
detail of what I did (in case I made a mistake in the procedure) or we can
await an npviewer.bin crash. At that point, I'll upload the backtrace.

Regards
CDR

Hi Pedro,

I should have come back and closed it but neglected to do so. Sorry about
that. The problem never recurred past the point where I instrumented
npviewer.bin. I assume that the bug got swatted during the normal course of
development, and an update installed the newer version on my systems.

Thanks & Regards,
CDR
