Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

after installing ubuntu 8.04 beta, the system monitor is not sorting the processes properly, neither by %cpu, nor by memory (name seems to work, status usually works, sometimes doesn't). This happens in both ascending and descending orders. Besides that, every time a new process is added, the scrollbar gets crazy, and doesn't show the top processes any more.

I just opened the System Monitor, enabled View Dependencies and
disabled again. The columns are sorted by cpu.

do you get the issue immediatly or after some delay? that looks similar to bug #217136

seems like it's happening after some changes occur. If the box is busy with lots of different processes, the order is almost immediately wrong, if the box is mostly idleing it takes a longer time to get the sorting wrong.

I haven't had problems with this on Ubuntu 8.10, I suppose it can be closed, unless somebody else still has the same problem...

Here it still happens, Ubuntu 8.10, all updates applied. See attached screenshot
