Bug Description

This is a new version of snapd.

The changelog is available here https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/blob/2.62/packaging/ubuntu-16.04/changelog, the raw git changelog is available here: https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/commits/2.62 (note that the debian changelog is auto-generated from the merges of the git commits so there is usually no need to look at the raw git commits).

The snappy team released a new release that we want SRU into focal+. The process described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SnapdUpdates was used and we have done integration-tests on the snappy images, autopkgtests on classic and unit tests.

GitHub Actions test runs can be found at https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/actions?query=branch%3Arelease%2F2.62

About the results:
Those tests failed:

    - google:ubuntu-24.04-64:tests/main/snaps-state (this is a test for a testing tool)

Also manual tests have been executed in noble using snapd from the ppa.

I ran a smoke tests and everything was ok. Also the integration with the app center was tested.

Hi Lukazs, I would like to request the upload of snapd 2.62 deb for noble (ONLY THIS FOR NOW).

Sergio completed his beta testing, and also tested the debs, results and explanation of limited fail cases above. Certification testing is making good progress, at this stage there are still a few tests outstanding. Snapd 2.62 is already tested for most of the devices and in all the reference devices.

In addition, team snapd also tested, covering basic operation of snapd deb and snap on focal, jammy, mantic and noble. I also received feedback from field and multiple individuals who reported a success testing specific improvements and features on snapd 2.62.

Hello Brian, I don't see a relation with snapd in the error, it seems to be unrelated. Is it possible to re-execute the tests please?
