Network Manager Warning Messages at System Shutdown

Bug Description

When shutting down hardy-beta, there are lots of network manager warning messages displayed. These seem to be mostly about "no debugging symbols found". I don't know if this is intended for a beta release or not. I did a fresh install of hardy beta on an old 800 MHz p3 desktop.

Thanks

Hi,
Could you give more information about the actual messages? They may be retained in /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog

If not could you perhaps take a picture of the screen at shutdown with the messages on?

Hi,

I couldn't find the messages in /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog (or any of the gzip files). I've installed the hardy-beta updates from today (24 March) which included network-manager files. Now everything shuts down cleanly and I only see the ubuntu graphic and progress bar. It looks as though the network-manager patches have sorted this issue (I don't know what issues the patches were fixing). Is there a way to turn off the usual shut down graphic so I can check the warning messages aren't just being hidden by the graphic.

Thanks.

I did a ctrl-alt-F1, logged in, then "sudo shutdown -h now" and there were some network manager messages but not the ones regarding "no debugging symbols found". The first was "NetworkManager: <WARN> nm_signal_handler():caught signal 15, shutting down normally". Then other messages as on the attached screenshot (literally).

Thanks.

Thanks for your response Mike, I'm unsure what this all means so I'm setting the status back to new, hopefully someone with more network-manager expertise will take a look and comment.

I am running Hardy beta too. I got the same error messages as shown in the screenshot by mikedev. The messages starts showing when I leave the graphical environment. I do not need to drop to text mode manually to see the error messages. The usual Ubuntu shutdown progress bar did not appear until the very end.
