Hi Anton

Did you in any case have the battery removed while the computer was booted?
If you can answer yes to this, you can discard the rest of the message.

Does the "not present" always appear, or only in certain cases? (battery removed, running on battery, running on ac)
And what was the state when the computer was booted?

Please also provide the output of the attached testscript.
Unpack the .tar.gz file. Run "python pmtest.py > gpm.log", and attach the generated gpm.log .
Please run the test both when running on ac and running on battery.

Thank you in advance.

 No :)

This state appeared always (see below) and didn't change when I pluged/unpluged AC.

Usually I booted with AC plugged and battery was not detected, but I've tried just now to start without ac plugged and this time battery is detected!
Then I tried to boot again with plugged ac I battery was detected again.

So I'll attach six different log files.

Thank you.

Hi Anton.

Thank you very much for your logs.

I can see, that some info is missing to me in the "not-detected" case. I've attached a new version of the pmtest.py; can I have you generate a log from one of the times, that the battery isn't detected.

Hi Andreas.

Unfortunately this bug dissapeared. :) I don't how does it happened, but after I restart without ac plugged, Power Manager started to detect battery and still do so.

I know that there has been numerous hal updates the last few days; in that case the battery will disappear, but restarting g-p-m will bring the battery back. Is that the case?
