Bug Description

Lunar Lobster will use Linux 6.2. As such, strace should be at version 6.2 too.

I'm attaching a debdiff from strace 6.1 to strace 6.2.

This "follows" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/strace/+bug/2008207 which is for strace 6.1 and for which an FFe has been granted. The same reasonning applies to 6.2 since that's actually the version of the kernel that will be used in LL. There are no large changes in strace 6.2 compared to strace 6.1.

The attachment "strace_6.1-0.1ubuntu1.dsc-to-strace_6.2-0.1ubuntu1.dsc.diff" seems to be a debdiff. The ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. If the attachment isn't a patch, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the "patch" tag, and if you are member of the ~ubuntu-sponsors, unsubscribe the team.

Side comment: as a review artifact, a debdiff filtered to include only the contents of debian/, plus a pointer to the upstream source if necessary, is more useful in these situations. (also, a single debdiff from 5.19 to 6.2)

6.2-0.1ubuntu1 is the wrong version number. This sorts after 6.2-0.1, the first (nonexistent) Debian non-maintainer upload of the 6.2 upstream version. We want 6.2-0ubuntu1; fixing as part of sponsorship.

Otherwise fine; uploading.

That was an NMU and the version number reflected that. I hadn't paid attention to this. I'll remember for next time.

Sorry for the debdiff. It made sense to me as an addition on top of 6.1 which I deemed more controversial due to the test artifact truncation ( https://github.com/strace/strace/issues/247 btw) and I didn't have the proper files around to generate that quickly, but I should have taken advantage of the elapsed time to re-do that.

Thanks!
