Bug Description

all I wanted was a list command. I put in the info for the first one listed. It loaded a lot of stuff and then asked for my dns something or other. I am not very terminal literate and did not know how to back out. I hit the esc button on my keyboard which resulted in, I believe, a download and then an error message I decided to send it in hopes of telling you to add an escape clause for those of us who love ubuntu but REALLY need gui but in some cases have no other choice but to use the terminal and cut and paste from web sites. which is probably dangerous BUT NO OTHER CHOICE. Thank you for all you have done to create this alternative platform. So the only bug here is me. But if you had an oops my bad escape clause it wouldn't happen. I'm not going to the places listed below because I've spent to much time already

Oh, by the way, what I was trying to do was turn off or get rid of snaps and was told on the internet to back up firefox which I'd spent a lot of time setting up and that took me to the terminal
Please give me GUI's that let me back up my programs and stop or terminate snap, or snaps or snapd or whatever it is that slows down my computer or takes away control.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

I am sorry you feel frustrated. I am trying to understand what you are trying to do here, but I am afraid we will need more information from you. If I understand correctly, you were trying to uninstall snapd, is that right? What were you trying to do with kerberos-config? What commands did you run in your terminal? What information were you asked to provide? What did you provide? Your bug report seems more like a support request. If that is indeed the case, then I would recommend asking for help in other more appropriate channels, like Ubuntu's Discourse, forums and IRC channels.

Since there is not enough information in your report to begin triage or to
differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I
am marking this bug as "Incomplete". We would be grateful if you would:
provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you
believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your
system, and then change the bug status back to "New".

For local configuration issues, you can find assistance here:

Sergio, I am very honored you responded.

I keep getting a notification to turn off snapd so it could update. But
I could find no way to do so in the GUI. I went on line and asked how
and all I found was how to remove snapd. On reading what snapd was and
it's drawbacks, such as slowing down your internet connection which I
was experiencing the disadvantages out weighed the advantages and the
only way to turn it of seemed to be in the terminal anyway I decided I
would remove it. I cut and pasted the commands to remove it. But instead
of removing it one of the commands I pasted in was not in my computer
and the directory had changed. There was no longer a directory name. So
I tried to list the contents of the directory but could not remember how
so in frustration typed in "list" once again the command was unavailable
but there were four different groups of commands that I could install
that contained "list" I tried the first and it started installing and
then stopped and asked for my "DNS number" I don't know what that is. I
felt stuck and wanted to escape so I hit "esc" and it came up wanting to
file a bug report. So I tried and as I was filling it out I came to the
realization that there was no "bug" I was the "bug." But I wouldn't have
been if there was a GUI way to turn of snapd as snapped requested or if
there already is it was easier to find, maybe include specific
instructions in the warning. Also, I now no longer want it. There should
be a GUI way to get rid of it. If not your program will forever be only
for engineers who know how to code on the terminal and people like me
will be forced to pay through the nose for MS bit by bit or all at once
with Apple. The forums you refer me to I have been visiting since linux
mint first came out. The solution always ends up in code on the terminal
where I become the "Bug." So, I would not say this bug report is
incomplete. The bug is the user's ignorance of code combined with a lack
of, or difficulty in finding, a GUI solution.

God bless and thank you for trying.

I was emailed a scam I thought at first was a real person.

The name Susan McClary ended up in my address book and I didn't put it
there.

If you have received an email from her don't open it. If you have check
your collected addresses you may have to remove it.
