Bug Description
Yesterday, Ubuntu 8.04 Alpha-6, provided sound and vision for a number of different players.
Today, after re-installation and a batch of Updates that changed kernel 2.6.24-11-generic to kernel 2.6.24-12-generic, all sound and vision playback capability has vanished. Sound and/or vision players present error messages or shut-down after briefly displaying.
A menu-selected restart into the previous kernel version magically restores sound and vision playback capabilities and the ability to invoke GStreamer plugins !

The same problem, i though it was a hardware damage so I take a closer look to my hard, then i reboot Ubuntu and still no sound i am using a genius 5.1 CH, Then i boot up again the pc and i started mandriva and it work fine, then i change the boot to previous Kernel and and sound was restore.
