I believe with 'latest' it's meant v4.2.0, released on Dec 14, 2022?
Or will there be a newer one in time for lunar FF?

Yes, the current / latest version v4.2.0 is the one we need for lunar.

@Frank Heimes / Canonical: Please use the upcoming libica v4.2.1 for lunar.

Sorry for this change on short notice, but we just released a bug fix that also needs to go into lunar. In order to minimize effort on both sides, we are planning to release a new version libica v4.2.1 with this fix included in the next couple of days.

I will update this bug to let you know as soon as v4.2.1 is available.
Thanks

Just did a version bump to version 4.2.1 (second attempt, actually).
Packages are available in https://launchpad.net/~aittner/+archive/ubuntu/tests/+packages?field.name_filter=&field.status_filter=&field.series_filter= but building/testing the depending packages is taking a while.

Thanks for the version bump - good work!
I just reviewed and uploaded it, with a few changes:
- I changed the version to 4.2.1-0ubuntu1
  (well, it is your 2nd PPA build, but for the archives it's the 1st)
- added a reference to a 2nd bug that is addressed with this version bump too
- and explicitly mentioned that you checked (and merged) the symbols

You could have also referenced the successful tests that are automatically executed during build (and can be found in the build log):
===================================
Testsuite summary for libica 4.2.1
===================================
# TOTAL: 55
# PASS: 33
# SKIP: 22
# XFAIL: 0
# FAIL: 0
# XPASS: 0
# ERROR: 0
===================================
(Or any further test you may have done - that's always appreciated to increase confidence in the new package.)

The updated package landed in lunar-proposed:
libica | 4.2.1-0ubuntu1 | lunar-proposed/universe | source
hence updating the status to 'Fix Committed'.
