Bug Description

i'm using gutsy 7.10, and always update when new updates come along so i guess package version is newest.

i saw few days ago that there has been an update for the language packages, and ever since then when i try to save a new file with a hebrew name the name apears with "????" and no hebrew chars, furthemore when i try to copy files with hebrew charecters in thier name i get a message saying [Error "invalid parameters" while copying "file adress" whould you like to continue], yet it doesn't happen when i just drag the file from place to place.

i've been using ubuntu constantly since feisty with hebrew language package installed and never had these problems before, i suppose it has something to do with the language packages since the problem only started after it was updated.

I use Hebrew here, also on an updated system. It seems fine though. Can you be more specific as to what applications have the problem?

For example, I just created a file in gedit and saved it with a Hebrew name, then copied it in Nautilus. It all worked ok.

ok i think i see the problem, this only happens when i try to copy hebrew named files to vfat drives i think, i trid copying songs to my mp3 and tried to copy pictures to a windows hard drive through ubuntu.

when i do only think on the ext3 drive it's all fine.

I can copy in nautilus files with hebrew names to flash drives which use fat without issue.

Is it some particular filename in hebrew (with special non-letter characters)? Does this depend on the content of the files being hebrew or non-hebrew?
