I see that the string was translated on April 14 while Łukasz updated the translations on April 13, and that may explain it.

OTOH, since the zh-hans language packs are present in the ISO, the string ought to still show up translated in case of a Chinese install.

$ echo $(LANGUAGE=zh_CN gettext -d ubiquity-debconf 'Connecting this computer to a Wi-Fi network allows you to install third-party software, download updates, automatically detect your timezone, and install full support for your language.')
将这台计算机连接到 Wi-Fi 网络,以允许您安装第三方软件、下载更新、自动检测您的时区并安装对您所使用语言的全面支持。

Hi Gunnar,

This issue is in jammy-devel, because of some of strings was changed, and the previous translation in focal-devel was removed in below lines.

Yes, and that's because the translation of the new string was added too late, i.e. after this commit:

https://git.launchpad.net/ubiquity/commit/?id=edc75238

But do you know that it is an actual problem for users who install Ubuntu in Chinese? If it isn't, the correction may as well wait until next translation refresh, which will happen after "Non Language Pack Translation Deadline" on October 6.

Gunnar,

Yes, it affects our OEM customer when they install Ubuntu in Chinese, it's fine in next refresh, and please fixes the zh_CN, zh_TW and zh_HK at the same time. Thanks!
