USB wireless card activated with ndiswrapper receive only IPv6

Using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron LiveCD

After activating my Linksys WUSB11v4 USB wireless card with ndiswrapper, Network Tools and ifconfig shows only IPv6 support for the wlan0 interface.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
