The version currently in 22.04 LTS is 42.1 with the CVE patch cherry-picked.

In the address bar, there should be a Reader Mode icon. Click it and ensure that reader mode works normally.

What Could Go Wrong

epiphany is not seeded in any Ubuntu desktop flavor so users are likely to have another web browser available if things were to go wrong and know how to install it.
As a component of GNOME core, there is a micro-release exception for epiphany-browser

Accepted epiphany-browser into jammy-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https:/ /launchpad. net/ubuntu/ +source/ epiphany- browser/ 42.4-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
