The changes made to disable the lightnvm subsystem are poorly documented (impossible for someone just looking at the changelog to follow) and the commit does not refer to the stable patchset which introduced this. It becomes a misc commit. While looking closes I discovered that the abi files were faked for the last two cranks for no apparent reason. Also one of the lightnvm modules was dropped from the abi files in the previous crank which made no sense at that point in time.
