Bug Description

Hello,
I installed Kubuntu 22.04 and I noticed that the splash logo
appears displaced to the bottom. This happend when I updated the pkgs for the first
time. At first reboo, after installation the splash was fine.
I'm using Nvidia driver that was installed automatically in the installation.
Also I didn't have this problem in Kubuntu 20.04 and
21.10.

Regards

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Libera.chat.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1979912/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

This is expected behavior as it accommodates a UEFI-based ACPI logo on newer machines. As such, this is by design. See LP: #1969984 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/1969984)

Changed in kubuntu-settings (Ubuntu):

Hello,
thanks for your quick reply.
I tested with UEFI and it works as expected.

Thanks

just a note.
The change works but the UEFI-based ACPI logo feels redundant.
As the logo already appears at the Bios startup.
Would not be better just to add the Kubuntu logo instead of the UEFI-based ACPI logo?
just thought.
Thanks for your hard work! :)

The bug fix in LP: #1969984 was a complete theme change, not a simple movement of the logo even though it appears that way. It was the only way to accommodate Plymouth operating on multiple monitors of different resolutions per that bug report. Hence the "won't fix".
