Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Using a screen width of 1900 pixels I get gigantic icons (approx twice the height and width) and text size in firefox and epiphany.

Reducing the width to 1600 pixels gives the 'normal' icons and text size.

This bug appeared with the upgrades to hardy this morning (03-03-2008).

I confirm this with firefox and epiphany as well as of today. Total display (dualhead) width is 2464x900 and I attach some screenshots.

Firefox has icons in menus scaled wrongly as well, whereas epiphany does fine hear. Page rendering is wrong in both cases, including pixmaps.

same here ... upgrade from gutsy to hardy ... 2 screens 1900x1200 and 1600x1000

starting firefox3 leads to icons twice as big as normal ... and also the content on the websites are 2-3 times to big

firefox and swiftfox are almost unusable, the icons in menu and toolbar are HUGE and pixelerated!

Icon sizes seem work for me in current hardy.

Font size is still wrong with some content (like launchpad), where e.g. the bug title and comments are huge, but my name and the "actions" column on the left is displayed fine. If I do ^- to zoom out, there is still disproportion ("actions" almost unreadable, regular text is normal).

Can someone confirm icons are fixed for him/her as well and retitle this bug?

yep, icon sizes are fixed, though it's still not everything allright, some pages show extremely small font sizes and everything misplaced...

I agree:
Icon sizes are fixed.
Font sizes are still wierd - some much too large some too small.
I can't see any pattern... (perhaps because I switch resolution between 1920*1200 and 1024*768 whenever I dock and undock).
