Bug Description

NOTE
====
This depends on evolution-data-server 3.44.1 so that version ought to reach jammy-updates and be fully phased before we let evolution 3.44.1 in to jammy-updates

Impact
------
This is a new stable release in the 3.44 series (corresponding with GNOME 42).
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/blob/3.44.1/NEWS

It should also improve dark style handling LP: #1969251

Test Case
---------
Install the update
Log out and log back in (or restart)
Open Evolution.
Make sure you can write and send an email.
Make sure that you can receive and view HTML emails ok.

You can also verify LP: #1969251 (sorry it's not listed in the debian/changelog)

What Could Go Wrong
-------------------
In the past, we've treated this as part of the micro-release exception for GNOME, but evolution is not part of core GNOME.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/GNOME

Evolution is included by default in two Ubuntu flavors: Ubuntu MATE & Ubuntu Kylin.

Other Info
----------
There is one more package in the evolution stack: evolution-ews. But I don't think I have an EWS account to test, so I'm skipping that update this time. There are new evolution 3.44 releases monthly until October.

Brian Murray (brian-murray) wrote : Please test proposed package

Hello Jeremy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted evolution into jammy-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/3.44.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-jammy to verification-done-jammy. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-jammy. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s) fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in -proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

Yes, I've tried evolution 3.44.1-0ubuntu1 too and it works well.

I'm going to temporarily drop the verification-done tags because I want evolution-data-server 3.44.1 to be fully phased in jammy-updates first.
