Could you provide steps to reproduce the issue?
Since your logs mention php 7.2, I assumed you are using bionic (18.04) and checked the dependencies for php-pear from the bionic packages in https:/ /launchpad. net/ubuntu/ +source/ php-pear. None of them list php-archive-tar as a dependency.
